Highlights from the ALAN II conference in Leicester

ALAN2014 Delegates Outside

From September 2 to September 5, 2014, around 100 delegates from 18 countries convened in Leicester, UK, for the second international conference on Artificial Light at Night (ALAN). The event was organized by the De Montfort Law School, with the support of the Loss of the Night Network  and the International Dark Sky Association.

Over fifty presentations were given, providing the state of the art on research in various aspects of artificial lighting at night time. The presentations covered topics on the impacts biology, ecology, human health, society, measurement and modelling and technology and design aspects. The next edition of the ALAN conference will be held in May 2015 in Québec.
